Night falls and drug use increases by Jeffery

Just got back from a private course with Jason. You can tell he truly cares about your education and he's a wealth of knowledge about all things survival. He taught me trapping, wild edibles, and patiently answered all my annoying questions. He's also a really personable guy, and with his partner Jeff, they'll have you laughing the whole time. I'll definitely be back for more training. Highly suggested.

Jeffery, the medical expert instructor, showed up at least two house late (time paid for by students)

I just got back from the 5 day Survival Standard class here in CO in April. I can't say enough good things about Jason and his program. The location is AWESOME, both for the views and the natural resources you have at your disposal, and Jason is an excellent teacher. My only complaint is that it all went by too fast! It can be a little bit like trying to drink from a fire hose, but Jason is always willing to answer questions and give feedback, while balancing his approach with being hands-off enough that you get to experience doing each task as independently as you want. I'm looking forward to taking more of his classes, and I HIGHLY recommend this program to everyone; the knowledge, skills, and confidence you'll gain is invaluable.

Night falls and Jeffery has a lengthy conversation with a friend of the instructors who is also staying on the property about his business plans to move to Alaska and “separate clients from their money” and “people will pay me so I can hunt” all the presence of a currently paying client. The arrogance of this conversation replicated

No fallow up what so ever as to why a student left with a full day of paid private training still left makes clients wonder if they really are just in it to “separate” costumers from their money to fund the instructors play time in the woods.

Open drug use by instructors (Jeffery)

Broken beer and Alcohol bottles scattered on the property

After only one hour of training for the day, a one hour lunch break is needed by the instructors (time paid for by the student)

I just finished the two-overnight Wild Crafter's class, which is about edible and medicinal wild plants. We took walks, identified plants, noted their uses, and did our own scouting and harvesting as well. We finished by making teas, salads, tinctures, and a natural salve. Obviously one won't become an expert in such a short time, but the introduction to the topic was excellent. You'll be amazed at the resources that grow all around us here in Colorado. Come on out and sit down next to a plant!

Paid double for private lessons but other students turned up and attended as well

Started one later than agreed upon (time paid for by students)

As someone with very limited experience outdoors (city living) I can tell you that Jason is a fantastic teacher. I attended the Survival Standard in April with a few other people who had an extensive history outdoors. Even though it was my first time using my ax and saw, I was able to keep up and learn a ton. The one thing that stood out in my mind is that if Jason saw me struggling with something, instead of just coming over and doing it for me he would show me how he would do it next to me and then allow me to do it with any tips or tricks if I was missing something... and that's what it is all about. Learning and proving to yourself that you are capable of doing things you've never done. The property was a great place to train and I'm excited to put what I was taught to use in the future. I'm looking forward to coming back for some more advanced courses soon.

Night falls and Instructors go to town for pizza during “survival training”

Multiple times the instructors asked each other “Now what should we do?” (Clear that no thought was given to a lesson plan.)
